This Thursday Year 5 invited their parents to come and take part in our Team Challenge day. All the parents experienced working with other children and their own. Here are some of the challenges that we did.
Chain Challenge (by Adam) Last Thursday morning we did a team challenge called Chain Challenge. First we got split up into 5 groups then we started but we could only use one hand. The groups had to make the longest chain in 20 minutes. Could you be successful? My team actually won because we had the longest chain in the class - we had 47 links but it was close!! GOODWORK MY TEAM. Everyone tried their best but we won because we worked as a team!! Football Challenge (by Matthew) Last Thursday morning we did some team challenges with our parents, which was AWESOME!!! We had to dribble a football. I know it sounds easy but we had to get it in a bucket and hold hands and not break hands. We came last but on our second effort we came 2nd which I was satisfied with. If the ball left the circle you had to go back to the beginning, that’s why we came last. I was the one who got the ball in both times (even though the first time I chipped it onto Euan’s legs and then it landed in the bucket). It was great! | Spaghetti Challenge (by Adelaide) One of the challenges was called the IMPOSSIBLE spaghetti challenge, which was almost impossible because we used dry spaghetti. First we were split into 5 groups with equal amounts of adults and children. When we were split into groups we started the challenge. All we could use were two paper plates and two people. We had to put our hands together with the paper plates and carry the spaghetti to the bucket. If we dropped the spaghetti or it snapped we had to give it to the next pair in our group. My group unfortunately got none in the bucket because it was IMPOSSIBLE!!! Tower Challenge (by Tigerlily) Last Thursday 5JM and 5FM had a team challenge and lots of parents came and joined in with this fabulous activity called the tower challenge. We had to make the tallest tower out of art straws and it had to stand up for 20 seconds without bending, falling or leaning. It was a lot of fun and involved a lot of team work. The parent I worked with was Daisy’s dad and we worked very well together taping and sticking. The best part of it was that I was allowed to stand on the chair and on the table. It was very fun! |
