If you won a million pound, what would you do?
Dear Mrs Wilson, I am writing to you to request to go outside with Year 5 in the playground to play in the snow. Everyone has agreed that you are the best head teacher this school has ever had and you always do everything right and with a certain. You always have a big jolly smile and say good morning to everyone. In addition to this, when we go outside we can build lovely snowmen and we will have even better work in literacy because we can do poems, describe writing, stories and it will be great. Also, this term our topic is all about different weather kinds. Furthermore, we need a boost up out in the fresh air because it makes our brains fresh. Please consider this Mrs Wilson please. It won’t be long before it goes and we might not have it for the next few years and a hour or two outside and we would be the most sparkling for students. To support my view it would be the most jolly, special day in our lives! If you agree to this, me and my students would be delighted. Finally, as you are brilliant, I’m sure you could let us as we have been working so hard this term. If you do we will be grateful you forever! Yours sincerely, Miss B. Clarke
If elephants ruled the world what changes would you see? There is NO right or wrong answer to this question – simply YOUR answer. You need to think about your answers and be able to justify them – in other words, don’t say the first thing that comes into your head, AND, fully explain your answers. Read the answers given by others and treat them seriously – even if they sound odd, they may all be valid if they can be justified. On the first day back at school,in Literacy, we were learning how to to evaluate a set of instructions. We watched a video of people playing snap and using our whiteboards we were challenged to write down the features of instructions. After that, Mrs Mulroy, provided each group with a set of playing cards and we had to follow a set of written instructions, which were mixed up This was GREAT fun and a bit tricky too but we played lots of card games. We played ,Chase the Ace, Stick,Cheat, 8's, Slap Jack and Sevens.
On Tuesday, we continued learning about instructions and how to improve and edit our own instructions. Mrs Mulroy organised the class into mixed groups and we were challenged to write a set of instructions in 15 minutes. Then, we went into the playground and we had to follow the instructions written by a different group. The games were: Hopscotch, Hide and Seek,Tig Build up, Simon Says and last but not least Scarecrow Tig !!! IT WAS REALLY FUNNY !!! On Thursday and Friday we wrote our own instructions for an Ogre sandwich. Some children found it hard but when we worked together it was much easier! We produced an amazing but disgusting list of ingredients like slugs, eye balls, sheep fur, badger tails, buttered fingers and rat brains. These ideas made every one feel sick!! But it was really FUN !!!!! THIS IS YOUR CHALLENGE .....Can you name the features you would use for a set of impressive instructions? It's that time of the year again when we make our New Year's Resolution. Mrs Mulroy and I have been busy discussing what we need to get better at for the year to come. So here are our resolutions and we have chosen one for school and one for our home life.
