Years 5 have certainly been busy this week learning about Henry III and the Dissolution of the Monasteries. After lots of reading and research, I challenged the pupils to produce an artefact, model or painting which would help them to explain how and why Henry destroyed the monasteries in England. Take a peek at some of the work the children have produced so far .Everyone has worked really hard and we have had a lots of serious discussions, as well as lots of fun designing and creating puppets and models. What do you think?
Listen to Henry VII speach to the people of England to explain why he dissolved (got rid of) the monasteries during his reign. We used Morfo app on the iPad to animate images of him that we found. By Chloe M and Alfie G.
Can you think of any other reasons why he might have wanted to dissolve the monasteries?
In Science we have been investigating reversible and irreversible changes (who can explain to our readers what that means?). As you can see from the photographs we did lots of different experiments, but can you remember what they were and whether they were reversible or irreversible changes?
