In science we have been learning about food chains and food webs. We made some mobiles to help us learn more about the different words used to describe food chains.
Firstly, we played a game where we had to work out who eats who. After the game, we watched a video about the types of foods which were eaten in Tudor Times. Did you know that King Henry VIII ate pigs, herons, swans and puffins? All of these animals are part of a food chain. A food chain shows the feeding relationship between living things and Henry VIII was certainly a part of a food chain.
Can you work out the correct order of this food chain?
Swan, grass, sun, King Henry
After we had sorted out different food chains and webs, we learned some new scientific words.
Can you explain the meaning of each of the following words?
Primary producer, primary consumer, secondary consumer, predator, energy provider and tertiary consumer ?
