Well done to Gabriel, Natasha, Millie, Chloe, Ben and Elaina for the effort they have put in to their work this week. You all deserve to be on the celebration wall. A super start to this half-term!
Golden Rule –Work Hard It is always very difficult to choose someone for the Golden Rule, because I have so many children in 5JM who are the ‘ALWAYS CHILDREN’. Kayleigh was the lucky one this week and she was chosen by the class. Obviously, an excellent choice as Kayleigh is such a pleasant girl, always giving 100% .This is the second time Kayleigh has received this award, so very well done! Terrific Topic Worker What a super end to the autumn term. ALL of 5JM have really impressed me this week with their pictures completed in the style of Picasso. Because you have worked so hard and produced some fabulous portraits; I have decided to give the whole class the award for their effort and artistic skills! Great work everyone! Marvelous Mathematicians Elaina, you have worked so hard this term always completing your homework on time and giving 100% effort all of the time. I am confident that if you keep putting the effort in, you will soon start to make lots of progress. Well done Elaina! Keep up the good work. You will soon be multiplying any number by a thousand. Remarkable Writer Yet again this was a difficult one to choose. Tiger Lilly has worked extremely hard on her autobiography this week. She was so keen, I couldn’t stop her from writing. Keep this up. Remarkable Reader Well done Presley, you have really worked hard to earn this award. All the extra reading at school with Mrs Alcock and at home, is certainly starting to help you make progress. Be proud of yourself Presley and keep smiling! Mega Mind Joe, you are such a keen, polite and helpful member of 5JM.Your effort to work independently is certainly a sensible and mature thing to do and you are setting a good example to the rest of the class .I am very proud of you Joe. Golden Rule Well done to Ben who is deserving of this award every week. Ben is ceratinly a role model for everyone to follow. Keep this up Ben. Marvellous Mathematicians In numeracy we have been learning how to check our answers by using the inverse and rounding decimal numbers to the nearestwhole number. Sounds complicated? Not for Jake and Tehya who whizzed their way through their work with great ease.Well done to them both. Remarkable Writer A special mention to Adelaide for her effort and attitude. This week in literacy we have started a new genre of writing ‘biographies.’ In preparation for their future writing, the children read a variety of texts about different people including William Shakespeare, Kylie Minogue, Steve Irwin and David Beckham, focusing on some ofthe language features that are necessary for producing a biography.I couldn’t believe the speed at which‘Detective Adelaide ‘identified the correct features using the correct vocabulary. Well done Adelaide. Keep up the good work! Mega minds Owen R caught my attention this week because of his passion, determination and attitude towards his learning. He has been full of such wonderful and helpful ideas which have contributed not just to his own learning but his classmates aswell. Thank you Owen. Anti-bullying by year 5 Bullying can be a difficult subject to explore or tackle but Emily and Georgia certainly had a voice this week. A really big THANK YOU to them both for representing year 5 during Anti-bullying week and reading our class poem in an assembly held at Park Street.I think you were both very brave. A round of applause for this week’s Superstars! Golden Rule Well done to Amelia who truly deserves this award. She always works hard, is kind and considerate and sets a really good example to everybody in her class. Terrific Topic workers What a week! We have had to put a huge amount of effort into keeping on top of our topic work because we have been really busy preparing for our class assembly. In spite of our busy schedule Jordan, Presley, Daisy. Harvey, Joe and Tyler worked together to produce a fabulous carton strip to help explain how our digestive system works. Well done to you all. Watch this space for the completed version which we will be turning into a comic strip on film! Marvellous Mathematicians Georgia certainly deserves to be standing on the podium this week because of her effort and determination to learn her times tables which has really helped her with her division. I wonder who will be next week’s winner? Remarkable Writers This week in literacy we have been learning about instructions and 5JM were challenged to write a recipe for a giant .The children worked together to produce an imaginative list of ingredients as well as a method. Reading through their lists certainly made me feel a little bit queasy. I’m glad I’m not a giant. After a difficult decision I have chosen Matthew as writer of the week. Don’t worry. You will have the pleasure of listening to the children reading them next week in assembly. Mega minds Millie what a star! She never fails to WOW me with her enthusiasm for her learning. (Not only in school but at home as well.) I don’t think a day has passed without Millie bringing some extra work to show me! Keep it up and you will reach the stars! |
