Golden Rule - Look After Property Effie, I could give you the Golden Rule any week. But this week in particular you have really made an effort to look after our classroom and make sure everything is packed away and in its correct place. You are always careful and look after our school and other people's things too! Magical Mathematician Adelaide! Wow, aren't you doing well in Maths! Moving up groups and doing so very well with all our tricky level 5 questions and skills. I'm so impressed. You're a whizz! Marvellous Monkey Alfie, you are so mature, organised, sensible and helpful all the time. You always know what you should be doing and complete your work to a consistently high standard. Great job! Terrific Topic Work Well what a whizz kid you were Jack with your tricky coordinate plotting in Topic. We had to draw a map of China and plot the points of different cities! You were showing some top set Maths skills, well done! Remarkable writer Well the bomb's finally dropped! I think you know simple and compound sentences better than anyone else in our class. What a fantastic understanding and attitude you have had in literacy, I love it! |

Golden Rule - Be Kind and Helpful
Baker you are always in the right place and right time to help us within the classroom. Whether it's tidying the tables (or up after me) or organising the resources you know exactly what to do. Furthermore, you are a very kind and gentle member of the class who will always support others and help them when they need it. It's really lovely to have you in our class. Remarkable Writer Paris and Jack, you two are really impressive in literacy at the moment. You both constantly have your hand up and are ready to answer any questions which shows you are always listening and on task. Both of you are working extremely hard to progress with your writing by including lots of lovely descriptive detail and a range of punctuation. Great stuff! Terrific Topic Work Ben we were really impressed with the detail on your Tudor artwork! There was so much detail and it was that neat that I wasn't even sure it was your, haha! Well done Ben, its really good to know you can do this if you try. Marvelous Monkey Teegan you are always an absolute super star! I could give you this every week because you are always so helpful, honest, organised and mature! You work extremely hard and this is going to help you make outstanding progress. Keep it up! Magical Mathematician Effie you are constantly striving to be the best in Numeracy. Every day you work extremely hard on your table and really push yourself to do the extension and higher level work! Very impressive! A double bubble WonderWall from 5FM this week!
Golden Rule - Listen to People Lewis, all the staff in Year 5 have commented on your developing, mature attitude. Although you clearly like to enjoy yourself and have fun, you have now found a great balance between having a joke and working extremely hard. You make us laugh everyday with your quick witted comments but know when to draw the line and knuckle down! Well done you! Golden Rule - Be Honest Well done Marcus,it hasn't been the easiest of roads for you to get where you are now and we've had a few bumps along the way. But the important thing is, you are really impressing everyone. You are the first to hold your hand up if something has happened, this saves us a lot of time and energy. However, even more impressive is how little any issues involving you arise! I love your work hard, play hard attitude so keep it up! Terrific Topic Work Firstly, great job Chloe M on your fantastic pencil sketch of Anne of Cleves! If only you could see this drawing up close you would be blown away by the amount of finite detail Chloe has included. As well as this detail, she used a wide range of shading techniques which Mrs Chatwin expertly taught. All in all, I think Chloe's Anne of Cleves is better than the original! Secondly, Adelaide and Elle have been extremely creative while designing and making their 3D Tudor Rose. They used 4 different 3D techniques to add variety and style to their finished product and were meticulously careful at all stages of the creating process to ensure all the parts were neatly and precisely placed! Remarkable Writer Again, another very tricky choice for me to chose someone out of my class because of the amount of hard work and effort everyone is putting in. Kez, although, is an excellent choice because every piece of writing he did last week had only GREAT GREEN highlighted! He even wrote a letter to Mrs Wilson to persuade her to let us out in the snow, and guess what?! It was that persuasive, she said yes! Magical Mathematician Alfie, was chosen by Mr Russel for working so hard in numeracy that Mr Russel had to find him extra, harder problems to solve. We were both also particularly impressed with his mental maths skills and at how fast he can add and subtract in his head! Phew, think you might even beat me! Albi was chosen because he pushed himself to the limits last week with all his work. He tried the most difficult calculations and worked diligently to solve the correct answers. We were both very impressed with your drive to be the absolute best you can!We love that type of attitude Albi! Marvelous Monkey Oliver, you have developed a great, mature attitude towards your work and school in general. You know when to crack a joke and make use smile but you are also recognising how important it is to do your absolute best and make as much progress as you can. You are always polite and helpful and we really enjoy having you in our class. Last, but by no means least, Ella-Mai! Thank you for being such a hardworking member of our class. You always know exactly what you should be doing and get on with it with out any fuss. You are beginning to let us know if you need help or are unsure but this really does not happen very often at all. Furthermore, you are a great support and team worker on your table, you share, take turns and help out members of your group when they need a hand! Great stuff! The last wonderwall of 2012 and it sure is a good one... Golden Rules - Look After Property Everyone chose Baker this week for the Golden Rule. Baker always looks after everything. She is always ensuring everything is put away properly and our classroom is nice and tidy, thank you for all your help Baker. Terrific Topic Work Adelaide, you made such a beautiful Christmas bauble card that it just had to be you. I bet your family were over the moon with their gorgeous present and I'm sure it will be hanging on the tree for many years to come. Marvelous Monkey Ellie, you are truly beginning to turn things around and are developing a wonderful attitude both with your work and outside the classroom. Keep it up little lady! Magical Mathematician Libby, its been lovely having you back in school and you're working really hard to catch back up. This was really evident in your effort with your coordinates this week. You did a 'cracking' job and were first to finish your Christmas cracker, reindeer and Santa correctly. Great job! Remarkable Writer Owen, you were so enthusiastic about researching Sarah Stevenson so you could gather information to write her biography. It was fantastic to see you so excited about writing. Keep it up in the New Year :) Golden Rule - Work Hard I have had so many teachers telling how impressed they are with Shaun at the moment! He has been wowing lots of adults around school, such as our French teacher Mrs. MacAleve, Mrs. Mulroy, Mrs. Chatwin and me! He has also been bringing his reading books back everyday and changing it regularly. This is really helping him make progress. Keep it up Shauny! Remarkable Writer Emily, you have really impressed me with the amount of effort you have been putting in to your writing lately! This week your biography, for Sophie from the BFG, was really detailed and informative and you didn't turn it in to a story. Great stuff! Magical Mathematician Adelaide, you keep giving 110% effort, you never give up and always keep trying and that is why you are making such great progress. You have remembered all our new vocabulary from this week and now know some fancy math words relating to shapes and how to use them. Good job! Terrific Topic Work Oh my! This was a tricky one because everyone has made such amazing Pablo Picasso Pastel Portraits however Mrs. Chatwin and I have decided that Kez should get the terrific topic work award. His portrait was really original, interesting and different. He used lots of different shapes and colours and as a result his work copied the surrealist style of Picasso. Marvelous Monkey What a change I have seen in 5FM so far this year. There are so many of you that have really started to mature and show a responsible and sensible attitude while still being able to have fun at the right times. However, there are some of you that have always behaved impeccably and set a high standard for everyone else. Well done Teegan! You are a true role model for pupils in our school! Well done to this weeks WonderWall Winners! Golden Rule - Listen to People Adam, you thoroughly deserve the Golden Rule this week! You have been working extremely hard at your listening skills and it is really showing in your work. Marvellous Monkey Oliver, what a change in attitude we have seen from you compared to the beginning of the term! You are no longer make silly jokes and being daft, you now listening carefully, working hard and giving 100% effort to make progress. Remarkable Writer Wow, Presley! Keep doing what you are doing and you are going to slam your end of year target. You don't always find writing the easiest but you are working very hard on your spellings, handwriting and its really showing through, keep it up! Magical Mathematician Oh my, am I ever going to come across something these girls can't do! They are finishing everything I put infront of them AND getting them all right! Guess that means I'm going to have to find some super tricky stuff for you. Mwah ha ha haa (evil laugh)! Terrific Topic Work This was a tricky one this week... some many super organ comic strips to choose from. But in the end Tehya's (spelled correctly, i hope) really shone through! A superb effort, with some wonderful characters and of course, most importnatly, all the infromation correct. Keep an eye on our home page to see the finished results. |
